Recreational Therapist

I was raised in the state of Idaho where I spent much of my childhood outdoors, learning, working, experiencing and adventuring with my family. The various activities I engaged in helped keep me well rounded and curious about the world. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation, as well as a minor in visual arts. I went on to become nationally certified as a recreation therapist I has spent over 10 years working with teenage girls and families in various professional capacities. Much of my career has been spent working at a high-profile girl’s residential treatment facility, as director of the recreation therapy department. I am passionate about the world and have a drive for exploring different cultures and understanding other people. I has fueled this passion through travel across the world as well as fostering relationships and connections with those who have crossed my path in everyday life. I am also passionate about the work I do and truly believe that we can grow the most as we experience and learn from all life situations. Our comfort zones are meant to be pushed! I believe in and work to foster the healing and change that can come from working in a family system. I am thrilled to be a part of the Namaste NorthStar team, where I get to play a key role among my coworkers, in challenging and healing the individuals and families I work with through experiential play.
